Princess Beatrice marries Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Royal fans were treated to an exciting surprise on 17th July when it was revealed Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice married her fiancée Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The private ceremony was held at the Royal Chapel of All Saints Royal Lodge Windsor, with only immediate family present. The event was held in strict compliance with government guidelines and guests socially distanced, even in the wedding photos.

Princess Beatrice was originally due to marry her fiancée and Italian aristocrat, Edoardo at the end of May at the Chapel Royal with a reception to follow at Buckingham Palace. However, these plans were put on hold due to the Coronavirus and the couple decided to proceed with a much smaller wedding.
The Queen and Prince Phillip were in attendance along with the bride and grooms’ parents and Edo’s son, Wolfie. While Princess Beatrice’s father was in attendance, he was not included in any official portraits due to his ongoing scandal regarding his close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Since the wedding, Princess Eugenie has shared her support for her sister via social media, posting a picture from the night prior and congratulating her by re-sharing some of her wedding portraits. Edoardo also shared their wedding photos afterwards via his social media and included a few touching lines by E.E. Cummings.

Beatrice wore a slightly altered dress from her Grandmother’s closet designed by Norman Hartnell. In addition to giving her a dress, The Queen loaned Princess Beatrice the Queen Mary Fringe Tiara that she had worn on her own wedding day. Official portraits were released which showed the Bride and Groom with the Queen and Prince Phillip in front of the church.
Additional photos were released of the Bride and Groom coming out of the church and on the grounds of Windsor Great Lodge. Government guidelines, at the time, barred gatherings of more than twenty so the guest list was only immediate family. It is unclear if there will be a larger reception at a later date to celebrate or not.
Their marriage means that Princess Beatrice officially has a step-son, Christopher Woolf. The newlyweds have been spotted honeymooning with Christopher present for some of their trip. The couple are reportedly living at St. James Palace in Princess Beatrice’s apartment. xx
