The York Princesses: Best of 2019
The York Princess's both hold full time jobs but they both still make time for royal events and charities. Throughout 2019 Princess Beatrice has continued her work in education while Princess Eugenie has focused on the epidemic of human trafficking and reducing plastic waste. Here are some of my favorite moments from Beatrice and Eugenie in 2019.
10. Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi first official night out

Princess Beatrice began the year by attending the National Portrait Gallery Gala alongside her now fiance, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. At the time it was believed the pair had been dating for a while but it was their first official appearance together. The event was attended by Victoria and David Beckham, Liam Payne and Beatrice's cousin-in-law, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
9. Princess Beatrice wedding guest style

Not only did Princess Beatrice get engaged this year, she also proved what a pro she is at weddings. While attending several weddings for friends including Ellie Goulding and Misha Nonoo, Beatrice showed off her impeccable wedding guest style.
Never afraid of a more daring look, Beatrice looked incredible in a navy dress with lace cutouts at Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding and an emerald green metallic dress at Ellie Goulding's wedding. The York sisters are known to bring out all the stops for weddings and this year Princess Beatrice proved her expertise.
8. Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbanks first anniversary

After a beautiful ceremony in at St. George's Chapel in Windsor towards the end of 2018, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank celebrated their first wedding anniversary this year. Eugenie posted on her instagram to mark the special day sharing a clip of her wedding video which included some new photos that the public hadn't yet seen.
7. Princess Beatrice and the big change charity

Princess Beatrice has been heavily involved in educational charities and reforming education for several years. Having been diagnosed with dyslexia when she was at school, Beatrice has shown her passion for making sure every child has access to education and support in schools through her work with Big Change Charity. The Charity works across focus groups like teachers & students, early development and inclusion to make the greatest impact.
6. Princess Eugenie: Pass on Plastic

After making her wedding plastic free last year, Princess Eugenie has continued her work on minimizing plastic and stopping use of single use plastic. 2019 has been a global year of change when it comes to climate activism and plastic use is an important component of tackling the climate crisis.
Eugenie campaigned during Plastic Free July with Project 0 to end single use plastic. She also launched the blue marine foundations cycling race which included 75 conservationists who rode from London to Monaco to raise awareness about marine life conservation. Plastic is a major issue in our oceans as fish and sea life can get trapped, digest or suffocate on plastic found in the ocean.
Several other members of the Royal Family have championed environmental and climate centric causes like Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry.
5. The York Princesses at Royal Ascot

Each year Royal Ascot is a highlight on the royal calendar. The annual horse race brings out most senior members of the Royal Family and is a favorite of the Queens. The York Princesses have attended consistently through the years and attended on Ladies Day this year. Along with many of the other royal ladies, Beatrice and Eugenie looked stunning in different shades of blue.
4. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie keep their heads up.

This was one of the most tumultuous years for the royal family owing to incredibly serious allegations made against Andrew. However, I do like to focus on the positive elements of the family and I was incredibly impressed with how Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie handled themselves amidst everything this year. They have managed to continue on with their personal and charitable work which I greatly admire. I completely understand if others have a different view, but in my opinion, Beatrice and Eugenie have been put into a very difficult position and I think they have continued with grace and dignity even under immense pressure.
3. The York Princesses and their significant others on Christmas Day

This year marked the first time that both Beatrice and Eugenie have been accompanied by their significant others on the Christmas Day walk. Jack Brooksbank was with Princess Eugenie last year following their wedding but 2019 marked the first time Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi made a Christmas Day appearance with the family. Beatrice and Edoardo are expected to marry sometime in Spring 2020 but no further details have been released yet. It was lovely to see them both so happy with their partners and it will be exciting to see how the Christmas walk will change over the next few years with (hopefully) more children joining the family.
2. Princess Eugenie and Tech Tackles Trafficking

One of Princess Eugenie's passions project is the Anti-Slavery Collective that she founded in 2017 with one of her friends. This year, the collective partnered with groups to discover more and advance the ways that technology can help solve the human trafficking problem. During several panels and conferences throughout the year the campaign #TechTacklesTraffic brought together groups and influential people who can help solve this epidemic through technological advancements.
1. Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's Engagement

My favorite news to come from the York sisters this year was the announcement that Beatrice and Edoardo were engaged. The announcement was posted on social media this fall along with photos that Princess Beatrice took of the couple. There were additional professional photographs that were a bit more playful and it was so wonderful to see the couples dynamic. There haven't been any other announcements made about the wedding yet but more details should come out sometime in early 2020.
