Princess Anne’s 70th Birthday

The Princess Royal celebrated her 70th birthday this year. While the occasion was different than expected due to the pandemic, the Queens only daughter still had some very fun public celebrations. There was a documentary released to celebrate all the work she has done since her eighteenth birthday when she officially began working for the crown.

Princess Anne has rightly earned the title as one of the hardest working members of the Royal Family. She is associated with over three hundred charities and organizations and has regularly been one of the “hardest working royals” by recording hundreds of charitable visits each year.
One of her longest standing associations is with Save the Children. She has traveled around the world highlighting the work of the organization and has served as president since 1970. She also works with several other organizations in areas such as the military, veterans, healthcare workers, carers and is passionate about the outdoors and nature.
The Princess Royal competed in the Olympics in the 1970’s and is an accomplished equestrian. She passed on her love of horses to her daughter, Zara Phillips, who has competed in the Olympics and won a silver medal. She is known for her no-nonsense attitude and her work ethic, something her children admitted probably will never change.
While celebrations were different for everyone this year, the Princess Royal didn’t seem to mind having marking her special day in a more subdued way. Some new portraits were posted to mark the occasion & she is said to have seen her children and grandchildren ahead of time. xx
