Princess Anne inspects the Troops

Princess Anne is well known for her work ethic supporting upwards of three hundred charities and serves in several honorary military positions. This June Princess Anne celebrated a special milestone as she has now served as Colonel-in-Chief of the Kings Royal Hussars for fifty years from 1969 until now. The Kings Royal Hussars are the British Armys most decorated Tank regiment.

Her Royal Highness was presented (virtually) with the Regimental Medal of the Kings Royal Hussars to commemorate the occasion. The Princess Royal also inspected the troops via video link as they were on parade at Royal Hospital Chelsea.

The Princess Royal has been in self-isolation along with much of the Royal Family since March. Anne lives in Gatcombe Park with her husband, Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence and she is believed to be staying there during lockdown.

She has been conducting most of her work remotely, talking to charities and organizations via video link or telephone. She undertook an in-person visit to the Duke of Gloucester Barracks in the middle of June. She also joined her mother, The Queen, on her majesties first ever video call in June to talk to Carers who are supported by the Carers trust of which the Princess Royal is president. xx
