Senior members of the Royal Family gathered at Royal Albert Hall for the annual Festival of Remembrance last night. The annual event takes place at Royal Albert Hall the Saturday before Remembrance Day to honor service members and commemorate anniversaries of important battles.

This year the Festival marked the 75th anniversary of the Battles of 1944 and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Government Communications Headquarters. There were performances by James Blunt, Leona Lewis, Jeff Goldblum, the Central Band of the Royal Air Force and HM Royal Marines.

As in previous years, the Queen sat alongside the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, and Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence sat directly behind them.

The celebrations for Remembrance day are especially important to the Royal Family given their close relationship with the armed services. Several senior members have served in a branch of the military including Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence.

The Royal women all wore black dresses, as per tradition, that showcased their unique styles and their outfits were all adorned with a red poppy. The Poppy is a symbol of remembrance and hope for a peaceful future that has been used since 1921. To see all the looks from the Festival of Remembrance, check out Women of Windsor's fashion page. The Royal Family will be out again tomorrow for the Service of Remembrance on Cenotaph. xx
