The Duchess of Cambridge visits Sunshine House

Continuing her work with the early years, the Duchess of Cambridge made an unannounced visit to Sunshine House. The organization helps first time mothers under the age of twenty-four during pregnancy and continues to provide assistance until the children are two. While there she spoke with mothers and specially trained nurses about the services and aid that Sunshine House offers.
The Duchess spoke with experts about "attachment" parenting and the benefits of it for both mothers and children. She also met with some of the young mothers who have gone through Sunshine House.
As is always the case when visiting children focused charities, the highlight of the visit was seeing the Duchess charm a shy girl while she sat with mothers and their kids. The Duchess has always been a natural around children and has focused much of her work on the early years and providing children with the best start in life.
The Duchess wore a pair of Zara trousers and a polka dot equipment blouse for the visit. The next scheduled engagement for the Duchess is on September 26th when she and her husband will visit Birkenhead to attend the naming ceremony of the UK's new polar research ship. xx
