It is hard to believe that Princess Charlotte is only five years old looking back on all that she has already done in her short life. Born on May 2nd 2015, Princess Charlotte made her global debut at barely a day old when her parents presented her to the worlds media on the steps of the Lindo Wing.
Since then she has visited Poland and Germany with her parents on an official royal tour where she proved to be an expert at the royal wave. She served as a bridesmaid at the weddings of Philippa Middleton, Meghan Markle, Sophie Snuggs, and Princess Eugenie. Following in her brothers footsteps, she began school at Thomas Battersea Independent Day School. She has graced the Buckingham Palace balcony four times for the Queen's Birthday Parade. Princess Charlotte has also made history in the British Royal Family as the first girl not to be usurped by a younger brother in the line of succession.
While this years celebrations may have been different from previous years, William and Catherine have always prioritized their children and family before all else, so the day was bound to have been fun for Princess Charlotte. Kensington Royal released photos, taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, showing Charlotte helping to deliver food packages to local pensioners in Norfolk.
Catherine had revealed late last year that she had begun a tradition of making special cakes (and staying up very late to do it) for each of her children's birthdays. Anmer Hall (where the Cambridges are believed to be quarantining) also has grounds for the children to play outside and enjoy the spring weather. The Duchess has worked on projects that encourage kids to get back outside and enjoy the outdoors and she has spoken about how, as a family, they all love spending time in nature playing games or collecting little 'treasures' in the garden.
During the global lockdown Princess Charlotte has joined her siblings and parents in the weekly #ClapForOurCarers initiative as well as helping pack parcels for the community. Prince William has shared that he talks to his kids and shows them how fortunate they are by exposing them to vulnerable communities and people, much like Princess Diana had done for him. Princess Charlotte might only be five but she is already a much beloved member of the Royal Family. So Happy Birthday Charlotte, I hope you have an incredible day! xx
