Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother
4th August 1900 - 30th March 2002
Born Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon in 1900, she became the Duchess of York in 1923 after marrying Prince Albert. Elizabeth and Albert had two daughter, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. Following her brother-in-laws abdication in 1936 she became Queen Consort. After her husband, George VI's death, she became known as the Queen Mum and lived until 2002, aged 101.
